I did a bad thing with a spreadsheet yesterday by accident. The size of the
sheet is A1;L3000 but I pasted a formula into a whole column "L" =IF((
ISNUMBER (FIND($E$2;$E1048576))) ;1;0) so the size of the sheet is now
A1;L1048576
The BUG is : anytime I make a attempt to delete the extra rows and save I get
" FATAL ERROR" Bad Allocation. and Calc exits. Then I have to recover the
Document.
There are other bugs out there that sound similar but none seem to address
Calc.
It would be really,really nice to be able to limit the size of Calc ..like I
have seen suggested elsewhere. Options/Size X=a-z Y=10,000 so mistakes like
this can be avoided.
I'm not sure what I can do to help with this ..the file is to big to upload
here and I don't know what files would help from OO to help debug this. heck,
the crash message doesn't even tell me what allocation is wrong
memory,disk,protected memory? .....I looked at my screen funny?
I am going to try and just delete the column next. But it seems Calc has a
resource problem with very large spreadsheets or a large number of functions
and the few other reports close to this seem to have the same theme ( big and
complex ).
